BioTAK Score Distinguishes Takotsubo Syndrome From Heart Attack in Validation Study
Researchers developed the BioTAK score, which combines biological sex with blood biomarkers to help identify Takotsubo syndrome before cardiac catheterization. In an independent validation group of nearly 1,800 patients, the tool correctly classified almost 90% of participants, but the researchers said it is not a replacement for catheterization when that procedure is medically necessary.
