Study Links Earlier Indoor Light Use With Activity and Sleep Measures in Older Adults
A University of Surrey study across three European cities found that older adults with greater natural-light exposure had higher daytime activity and better reported sleep quality. Earlier use of bright-light therapy lamps was also associated with more activity and less disrupted rest–activity rhythms, but the study’s findings reflect real-world light exposure and usage patterns rather than proof of a treatment effect.
